[Weasley twins]…disappeared for a couple of hours and returned with armfuls of bottles of butterbeer, pumpkin fizz, and several bags full of Honeydukes sweets.”
Prisoner of Azkaban – Chapter 13
There has been some debate among Harry Potter fans on whether Pumpkin Fizz is a drink or perhaps a candy. At the Wizarding World of Harry Potter it’s served as a fizzy beverage, I’m assuming they know something we don’t 😛
It tastes a little bit like pumpkin juice, but more refreshing and of course – carbonated too.
But don’t just dilute your juice with a fizzy drink. I promise you, it will not taste well. I’ve got a special, truly magical formula for it. It’s always a hit at Harry Potter themed parties.
Harry Potter's Pumpkin Fizz
- 6 oz pumpkin purée 55 grams, ¼ grams, tinned or homemade
- 6 oz vanilla cream soda 180ml, ¾ cup
- 8 oz apple cider 240 ml, 1 cup
- 6 oz ginger ale 180ml, ¾ cup
- ice optional
Fill a large jar (or a cocktail shaker if you own one) with a few ice cubes, pumpkin purée and apple cider. Shake, shake, shake!
Strain the liquid evenly into 4 glasses.
Rinse the jar and fill it with cream soda and ginger ale. Stir the mixture with a spoon. Pour the soda mixture into glasses - again, evenly.
And that’s it! Serve immediately.
